Carmel’s career started as a writer at the FT, Vogue, and Tatler before heading into retail as creative director at The Conran Shop, Linley, and Heal’s, then onto the Tate as CEO of the commercial arm. She has advised the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Museum of Fashion & Textiles and is a Trustee of the Booker Prize and a board director of Tate Enterprises. “A great exhibition, book or play is always mood-enhancing and, sometimes, life transforming,” Allen says, “and Living in London, we have so much to enjoy – and much of it free”. See her must-read and must-see highlights this month in our Diary Dates.

Caroline Baxter

A seasoned, award-winning fashion director, journalist and stylist with over 25 years of experience in the industry, Caroline began her career at i-D magazine and has since held senior fashion roles at publications such as The Guardian and Elle. She is also known for her advocacy for greater sustainability and inclusivity in fashion and is currently scouring London boutiques for our Spring fashion story that will more than likely change up the way you dress down.

Sustainable Travel

Francisca is our go-to for sustainable holidays. She is one of the UK’s most experienced travel writers (former Travel Editor of Tatler and Digital Travel Editor of the Telegraph Media Group). She is now Editor-in-Chief at Navigator, a storytelling and digital marketing agency, and we will be regularly checking in with her on where to go – without the guilt trip. In the Spring issue, Kellett will share her eco-holiday tips for this Summer, plus what she thinks of the whole naked sauna-ing thing (she used to have a sauna in her attic, apparently. Weird or wonderful?).

Welton, a London-based photographer and director, shot the beauty cabinet story, brimming with pollution solutions. His work spans editorial and commercial projects for clients, including Vogue, The World of Interiors, Chanel and Martha Stewart. Welton’s creative direction blends graphic precision with playful storytelling, often incorporating portraits, still life and interiors into his visual narratives.

Illustration & Photography

Geoff Waring

Waring was behind our delightful animated illustration of London. A storied creative, he has shaped the look of some of the most successful magazine launches and redesigns over the last 30 years. Think Elle, British Vogue, Vogue Australia, Red magazine, UK Glamour, Easy Living and Good Housekeeping. Waring’s sharp editorial eye and instinctive understanding of how design, content and audience connect have also seen him collaborate with brands, such as Fortnum & Mason, Boden, Marks & Spencer and Monsoon.

Nancy Durrant

Durrant is a culture journalist and broadcaster with more than two decades of experience. Working for, among others, The London Standard, The Times, W Magazine, she is also the co-host of The London Theatre Review podcast (which does exactly what it says on the tin and we highly recommend it). ‘London is consistently the most exciting world city for theatre, and there’s so much I can’t wait to see this year,’ says Durrant. ‘With everything from thrilling new writing to established names reinvigorating the classics, there’s nothing like it!’ Discover some of her current picks in our Diary Dates section.

Food & drink

Melissa Hemsley

Hemsley joins us with her food-first and manageable mindfulness approach to modern wellbeing. She encourages wholesome everyday cooking through her recipes and TV work, with her latest bestseller, Real Healthy, helping us steer clear of UPFs. Deeply connected to London (she’s a North London girl), Hemsley is an ambassador volunteer for The Felix Project, London’s largest food-redistribution charity that rescues high-quality, surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, redistributing it to over 1,200 community organisations across the capital. Read her reveal of the cafés, shops and spaces she relies on in her hood to stay grounded and well amid the city’s fast pace.

Comedy & Podcast

Sara Barron and Geoff Lloyd

Barron and Lloyd bring their sharp wit and infectious chemistry to Onolla’s Spring issue (out March), as we test how well they really know each other with our revealing Love-O-Meter. A beloved duo across comedy, podcasting and radio, they’ve racked up impressive accolades between them, Barron with her razor-sharp stand-up and brilliant memoirs, Lloyd with his upbeat, irreverent, award-winning radio work. Now masters of the perfectly timed Instagram post and relatably funny observations on modern family life, this Stoke Newington-based couple have built a devoted following who turn to them for laughs, honesty and the kind of banter only long-term partners can deliver.
